It was a cold frosty morning and some people were still cosyed up in there beds. Right now I was eveing these people. I was about to start the Kiapoi to Rangiora fun run for my William Pike challenge. Everyone was going through a warm up and then the guy who was talking handed the starting horn over to another man. He blew the horn and we were off!!! I ran the first 4 kilometres and then did a run and walk to half way(6 kilometres). I was felling pretty good considering,but my legs were starting to hurt. It was starting to get quite hot so I was trying to find ways to entertain myself. First I tried looking at the veiw,but there was nothing good to look at(except people who like to look at grass and trees). Then I tried singing,but there were two problems to that. One, I was to out of breath to sing and two, I am a terrible singer so it was painful to listen to(and a bit embarrassing when someone passed you).
After all this I came to the last drink station turned a corner and found myself on a very busy road. I had about 2-3 kilometres to go and I new were to go so it wasn't that hard,well except for the part were someone tooted at my and I got such a fright that I nearly fell over!!! I finally got to the part were I could see the end and I sprinted.
At the start I was thinking that the name"Fun Run" isn't very good because running is not FUN,but after I had done it I realised that one of the reasons they give this name is because afterwards I actually realised that I did have fun finishing. The best part for me would have to be the seance of achievement at the end.
It sure is a big sense of achievement, especially in the heat. Do you think you will attempt another one this year?

ReplyDeleteAnna that sounds like lots of fun good on you for getting up and doing it. You should be really proud of yourself. Would you still do it next year?

I know you haven't finished this piece of awesome writing yet but I think that it's a pretty good piece of writing. And I completely agree with you on why is it called a fun run, but yes, it was nice to finish. Bye! ;)
