The Short and Incredibly Happy Life of Riley
This book had the same author has Norman and Brenda,so that is why we decided to read it.
The front cover had a picture of a slightly dirty, purple mouse holding a piece of cheese and a human doll. My prediction was that Riley(which I assumed was the mouse) found a doll and had a happy life because he had company.
The book started by explaining how humans want to live forever and nothing pleases them. Whenever they have blonde hair they want it to be brown and vise versa. I found the sentences really humorous and cleaver. Then it explained how Riley(the mouse) lived a happy life and didn't need much to make him happy. That was basically the storyline the whole way through, but it never got boring. The author always had a great way to make it entertaining and funny.
At the end of the book like the last one it said,
"Release your inner Riley"
I would highly recommend this book

Great review Anna, I am not sure whether I am happy or sad that you didn't add more detail. It's probably a good thing as you have mentioned the humour so I am now wanting to read the book to see what other things in life people are not happy with.
ReplyDeleteWere the illustrations in this book as interesting as the ones in the other book? Did your group spend as much time analysing it as the last one?
I look forward to seeing what book your group chooses to review next.

ReplyDeleteThis book was quite short,so we didn't get to analyse it for as long as we did for the other book. I didn't want to give to much of the book away,so you would want to read it
ReplyDeleteI loved the review Anna. I would normally have suggested adding more detail, but in this case I liked how you didn't give away the plot! Good Job, can't wait for your next review!
ReplyDeleteVery good review Anna. I think you reviewed this book quite well and you didn't really much detail because now people will be intrigued and want to read it.
